2 days and 1 night in the desert 2 days and 1 night in the Sahara desert - Erg Chegaga

Pick-up at 9:00 a.m. in Ouarzazate to begin the journey towards the Sahara Desert. The route takes us through the Drâa Valley, one of the most beautiful routes in southern Morocco, crossing Berber villages such as Agdz, offering spectacular views over the palm grove, Zagora, and Tamgroute, where we will visit its well-known green pottery cooperative.

We continue through Tagounite before entering the desert tracks, traveling for around three hours across hammada landscapes (rocky desert) and oases on an authentic 4x4 off-road route, until reaching the Erg Chegaga desert camp. There, we will find sand dunes up to 300 meters high and an impressive horizon of over 40 km of dunes.

Upon arrival, we will be welcomed with the traditional tea ceremony, a symbol of hospitality. At sunset, we will enjoy a camel ride and spend the night in a nomad-style tent, experiencing the silence and starry skies of the desert.

After breakfast at the camp, we begin the return journey to Ouarzazate, crossing the impressive landscapes of the Sahara Desert. The route takes us to Lake Iriki, a former dry salt lake surrounded by dunes, before rejoining the paved road at Foum Zguid.

We then continue north through the landscapes of southern Morocco until reaching Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we will enjoy a panoramic visit of the kasbah. Finally, arrival in Ouarzazate, bringing this unforgettable desert experience to an end.
