New Year’s Eve in the Desert

From December 29th to January 2nd 

We take advantage of the Christmas holidays to travel with family or friends and reach the dunes of Erg Lihoudi on December 31st, where we will celebrate a special New Year’s Eve in the heart of the desert.

A unique night awaits us, with music, a bonfire, a special dinner and a festive atmosphere, lasting until the body can take no more.

Marrakech - Hight Atlas - Ouarzazate - Rose Valley - Dades Tuesday, December 29, 2026

Pick-up at 8:00 am at the meeting point (Plaza Jemaa el Fna).

We cross the High Atlas Mountains to their highest point at Tizi n'Ticka (2,260 m). Arrival in Ouarzazate, a city known as the Hollywood of Africa.

We continue through the Valley of Roses until we reach the Sino-American Highway that will take us to Dades.

Dades - Draa Valley - Tagounite Wednesday, December 30, 2026

After breakfast at the hotel we will visit the Dades Gorges and continue through the Draa Valley, one of the most beautiful routes in the country. We will pass through Zagora, the last city before entering the desert, Tamegroute, known for the elaboration of green pottery and we will arrive at Tagounite, where we will spend the night in a traditional house.

Tagounite - M'hamid - Erg Lihoudi Thursday, December 31, 2026

In the morning, we'll take a stroll through some of the kasbahs surrounding the village of Tagounite.

We'll continue along the N9, which will take us to the village where the paved road ends, M'hamid el Ghizlane. 

Erg Lihoudi - Ouasi Sacre - Erg Chegaga Friday, January 1, 2027

After having breakfast and having contemplated the first sunrise of the year from a wonderful place. There, the off-road route begins, leading us into the desert. For about three hours, we'll travel through diverse landscapes: a hammada (rocky desert), an oasis, and more, until we reach the Chegaga dunes. A sea of ​​sand, with dunes reaching 300 meters in height and stretching for approximately 40 kilometers. A tea ceremony will be held as a welcome. Overnight in a traditional Berber tent at the camp.

Erg Chegaga - Iriki Lake - Foum Zguid - Aït Ben Haddou Saturday, January 2, 2027

We'll continue along the old Paris-Dakar Rally route, which will take us through more desert landscapes. We'll pass by Lake Iriki, surrounded by dunes and which holds water at certain times of the year.

We'll follow the track to Foum Zguid, where we'll rejoin the paved road.

We'll ascend the Atlas Mountains and arrive in Ait Ben Haddou.

Aït Ben Haddou - Marrakech Sunday, January 3, 2027

Return to Marrakech and transfer to your accommodation or to the airport (for afternoon departures).
