Desert trekking

For those who love hiking and adventure, we offer a 6-day trekking experience to the desert: three days out and three days back. We will walk 7 to 8 hours a day, accompanied by dromedaries that will help carry our luggage; additionally, anyone who wishes can ride on their back during the journey.

We will pick you up in Marrakech (please check the possibility of arrivals in Ouarzazate) and spend the first night in the Red City. The next day, we will head south to the edge of the desert, from where the 6-day trek will begin, taking us to the heart of the desert at the Erg Chegaga camp. There, a sea of dunes will amaze us, with a horizon of about 45 km and a 300-meter-high dune. During the trek, we will explore diverse desert landscapes, including hammadas (stone desert) and oases, among others.

A six-day journey that will become an unforgettable experience, combining adventure, nature, and human encounters, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.

1 day Airport - Marrakech

Pick-up at Marrakech airport at the agreed time. Transfer to hotel/Riad. Free day to explore and visit the city.

2 day Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Draa Valley - Zagora - Tagounite

Early morning pick-up from your accommodation (8:00 am) to head towards the Atlas Mountains. We will cross Tizi Tiskca Mountain (2,260 m) to reach Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Panoramic visit of the Kasbah, then continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “African Hollywood” due to the many historical films shot there. From there, we will follow the Draa Valley, passing through villages like Agdz and Zagora, arriving at Tagounite, at the edge of the desert.

3 day Tagounite - Erg Lihoudi

Breakfast and entry into the desert at Erg Lihoudi. We will begin the caravan accompanied by dromedaries, which will carry the gear and can also be used for riding if desired.

4 and 5 days Desert - Erg Chegaga

Early breakfast and continuation of the trek, sleeping in the desert under the stars. On the fifth day, we reach Erg Chegaga, where a sea of dunes awaits, stretching about 45 km with a dune approximately 300 m high. We will spend the night at the camp.

6, 7 and 8 day Erg Chegaga - Erg Lihoudi - Tagounite

For three days, we will begin the return journey to the village, walking through desert landscapes accompanied by our dromedaries. We will reach the Erg Lihoudi camp, where we will leave the dromedaries and take the minibus back to Tagounite.

9 day Tagounite - Tamgroute - High Atlas - Marrakech

Breakfast in the village and return to Marrakech.

10 day Airport

Transfer to Marrakech airport at the agreed time.
