4 days / 3 nights. Tradition and desert

Here we will present a four-day option, but there are endless possibilities. Whether the traveler is interested in spending several days with a family, or if he prefers to go hiking in the Sahara desert (sleeping in mobile camps, if the season permits).

From Tagounite you can do several circuits to the dunes of Erg Lihoudi or Erg Chegaga. In a 4x4 or a dromedary and always accompanied by local drivers or guides, who know the area well.

In Tagounite we can arrive safely and efficiently by regular bus (daily departures from Marrakech or Ouarzazate). It can also be reached by private car or minibus. If the option interests you, we will provide you with more information about these lines.

To enter the desert, a 4x4 vehicle or dromedary is necessary.

Day 1 Pickup in Tagounite

Pick up at our agency in Tagounite or at the bus station (depending on the way of arrival in town). Welcome tea ceremony. Dinner and night in a traditional house (private).

Day 2 Tagounite - Ouled Driss - M’hamid - Sacred Oasis - Chegaga

After breakfast we will visit some of the kasbahs around the town of Tagounite. In the afternoon, in a 4x4, we go deeper into the south of the country, arriving at M'hamid, the town where the asphalt ends and the entrance to the desert begins. After about three or four hours of driving through various desert landscapes of hamada (stone desert) and an oasis, we arrive at the high dunes of Erg Chegaga. The erg is characterized by having dunes 300 m high and 45 km of sand horizon. At the camp they will receive us with a tea ceremony, a typical Moroccan welcome. We will take a camel ride through the dunes, to see the sunset. We will enjoy a typical Moroccan dinner and sleep in a nomadic haima.

Day 3 Chegaga - Erg Lihoudi - Tagounite

In the morning, after breakfast and the great awakening in the middle of the desert, we will resume the 4x4 to return to the town. Before we will pass through Lihoudi, where we find camps in the first dunes of the Sahara. In the afternoon we can share, in Tagounite with a family from the town; doing henna tattoos, a family dinner, among other options. Night in a traditional house (private).
